Our Constitution and other laws currently on the books


The Constitution is the supreme law of the land and the result of the nine months' deliberations of the Constitutional Convention, the archive of which may be had here. Note that the very earliest debating on constitutional matters took place on Wittenberg X starting on or after Independence on 1 June 2004, but immediately moved to the Constitutional Convention forum upon its inception on 15 June 2004. This Constitution was ratified on 14 April 2005.


The Electoral Code deals with how our elections and referenda are conducted.


The Immigration and Citizenship Code of 2005 deals with all matters not dealt with by the Constitution in regard to obtaining citizenship and all other matters relating to immigration and citizenship. If you are interested in becoming a citizen of the Republic of Talossa, this is the first item on any Talossan website you should look at. This legislation was adopted by the Chamber of Deputies via RC6 on CoD Thread 292 on 26 July 2005 and was give Presidential Assent on that same day.


The Provincial Assignments Code deals with to which of our five provinces our citizens are assigned.


The Dating System Code is not a matchmaking service, lol. Rather it is a formalization of how the government formats dates in Gregorian years and Talossan years.


The Webspace Nationalization Act of 2005 begins the process of the nationalization of certain Talossa-related internet domains and begins the process of possibly making the Republic a non-profit corporation. It was made a law on by way of Presidential assent on 10 July 2005.


The Talossan Academy of Arts and Sciences Act of 2005 (1st Chamber of Deputies, RC7) aims to promote Talossan culture (arts, sciences, history, etc.). This effort will be presided over by the Minister of Culture. The final draft of this legislation was proposed by Miestrâ Schivâ and was made a law by way of Presidential Assent on 9 August 2005.


The Chamber of Deputies Size Bill of 9 August 2005 (1st Chamber of Deputies, RC8) changes the number of members of the Chamber of Deputies from seven to five as of the next Chamber Election. The final draft of this legislation was proposed by Miestrâ Schivâ and was made a law by way of Presidential Assent on 9 August 2005.


A Resolution of Protest is a now-outdated law dealing with the King of north Talossa.

Issued on 15 July 2005, Executive Order No. 050715 nominates Art Verbtten as the first-ever Justice of the permanent High Cort of the Republic of Talossa. With this Executive Order, the Provisional High Cort is instantly and forever dissolved.


Issued on 6 June 2005, Executive Order No. 050606 details President Gruber's plans for his new National Security Council.

Issued on 13 May 2005, Executive Order No. 050513 is the official convening of the 1st Parliament.

Business of the Prime Minister


OFFICIAL: The Government is on the case. (Mitchell Building 955) was issued on 2 June 2005. Prime Minister Miestrâ Schivâ asks Information Minister Gruber to begin the process of thinking about what would eventually become the Webspace Nationalization Act of 2005.


OFFICIAL: Laws Online, Now! (Mitchell Building 953) was issued on 26 May 2005. The Prime Minister asks the Secretary of State to make the listing of laws and statutes currently in-force available online in an at-a-glance format. This request was complied with by way of the page you see here.


The first-ever Address from the Incoming Government was delivered by Priime Minister Miestrâ Schivâ on 20 May 2005 via Chamber of Deputies 79. It details the composition of the Cabinet and other matters pertaining to her government.

Business of the Minister of Culture


OFFICIAL: Academy and Faculty Board nominations was issued on 9 August 2005 via Mitchell Building 966 and on the heels of the Assent to Talossan Academy of Arts and Sciences Act of 2005 (1st Chamber of Deputies, RC7). It puts into motion the first organization of hte Talossan Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Recently repealed items


The Omnibus Immigration Code governed our immigration process and all other matters related to citizenship not enumerated in the Constitution. It was an amalgamation of Resolution No. 14 of the Provisional Governing Council (adopted on 21 June 2004) and an amendment via Resolution No. 3 of the Chamber of Deputies (Assented to by the President on 10 June 2005). Both PGC Res. 14 and RC 3 were in-force and constituted our complete immigration laws other than those found in the Constitution. Both PGC Res. 14 and RC 3 were repealed in their entirety on 26 July 2005 by The Immigration and Citizenship Code of 2005.


The National Security Code is a now-outdated law establishing an advisory panel (via an email list) to the then-Dean of the Provisional Governing Council for dealing with the shenanegins of the King of north Talossa. This law was repealed via the Assent to Resolution No. 4 of the Chamber of Deputies.
